Performers who could have made it in Hollywood

While watching RayVeness' acting abilities on display in Pin-up Girls 1, a thought occured to me. She could have had a career in legitimate Hollywood movies or television! While gifted as lesbian erotica performer, she handled a large amount of dialog convincingly, & portrayed a '50s character seemingly with ease. I've often thought that certain performers in g/g erotica who have amassed a large volume of work (Elexis, Michelle Lay, Melissa Monet, etc.) have an ability to portray different characters more believably than other performers. Obviously, I'm grateful they chose their current profession, but who knows what might have been?

To that end, my personal choice for this honor would have to be Samantha Ryan. In addition to her extraordinary talents as a lesbian erotica performer & her stunningly good looks, she has the talent to personify any character she wishes, & always delivers a quality performance. I could definitely see her in a Hollywood feature like Julia Roberts' "Pretty Woman' role, or on television, as the lead in a sitcom like "Friends", or "Scrubs" or even a soap opera. She also sings & plays piano very well, & while I'm glad she chose lesbian erotica as her profession, I can't help but wonder what this talented woman would have accomplished, had she had taken a different career path.

By the way, does Samantha ever post here? I've seen many other performers, but not her.

Perhaps, but this is about g/g erotica stars with other talents, as well as "mainstream" acting talent, who could have made it big.

There's a lot of politics at play in Hollywood; just look at some of the famous actors and actresses who are the children of actors, directors or producers like Charlie Sheen, Sigourney Weaver, Michael Douglass and Drew Barymore. It may not be the amount of talent someone has, but who they know. Personally speaking, it's nice to know that many of the stars for GFF are well-rounded.

Someone in another forum said it best. Something like "performers who want to be successful will learn & hone their skills & get the majority of quality g/g erotica work, & those who don't are destined for "gonzoland". And we certainly don't need any more gonzo porn!

I know that in the past, RayVeness has had parts in a few movies and in NYPD Blue. She has also released a music CD. Quite talented and well-rounded.

Really? Wow! I had no idea the GFF contract girl had so much on her platter. I'd like to know what movies she's in, & what kind of music she makes.

If you check out her web site, you'll see a section where you can check out her music. Pop & dance stuff. She writes her own music, and while I am more into Blues, I think that she definately has a talent for writing. The Internet Movie Data Base will give you the movies and television shows that she has appeared in.

So, I love her work - especially here with GFF; but she definately has a lot going on. I hope that GFF keeps her around under contract for a long time.
